Your architecture is a bet on how long you will be around
Microservices, event sourcing and a service mesh at eleven people is not engineering, it is cosplay. Every abstraction you add is a loan against future understanding, and the interest is paid by whoever is on call at 3am eighteen months from now, usually not you. I have never regretted choosing the dull option. I have repeatedly regretted the clever one. The hard part was learning that this is an argument about humility, not about technology, which is why it never gets settled by benchmarks.
