Cooking for other people is the last unmonetised love language

Almost every way we care for each other has been turned into a service you can buy. Cleaning, childcare, company, even conversation. Cooking is one of the few that resists, because the value is not the food, it is that someone spent an hour of a finite life on you specifically. You cannot outsource that without deleting the thing itself. I think this is why people find it disproportionately moving when someone cooks for them, and why I am suspicious of every app trying to optimise it away.
